SkillsUSA is a national organization with the mission “to empower members to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens.”
Parkview students have the opportunity to participate in our SkillsUSA program during the year. From the Wisconsin SkillsUSA website, "SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce." We work with students on skills like leadership, teamwork, and work ethic, responsibility, and in order to help them prepare for jobs that they will have in the future. We want them to achieve career success and have the skillset that today's business and industry demand.
There are events held in the fall and spring where students can compete in a variety of categories. We typically attend at least two during the year. Some of the competition categories for middle schoolers in the state of Wisconsin are listed in the Competition Matrix document.
Take a minute to listen to the SkillsUSA theme song to hear another explanation of what the organization aims to accomplish.
