Specific dates of quizzes and tests can be found on PowerSchool.
Quizzes: Typically quizzes are given each Friday and are based on a 10 point scale. All of my quizzes are cumulative, therefore, not only skills from the current week will be on the quiz, but skills from any week previous could also be on the quiz. There is a Study Guide Quiz that students can take in order to get assistance on concepts that will be on that Friday’s quiz. Students are responsible for studying those skills and getting clarification if needed before that Friday’s quiz.
Non-Satisfactory Quiz Scores: If a student scores below a nine (9) out of ten (10) on a quiz then the student must complete math reflections (see my webpage for an example) for at least five incorrect answers. Those reflections must be completed before a student is allowed to retake the quiz.
Quiz Retake: Students must first complete a math reflection sheet (see my webpage for an example) for at least five of the wrong answers on the quiz. Once all reflections are completed correctly then the student can retake the quiz. A student can retake a quiz as many times as he or she wants but they need to complete reflections every time.
Tests: Each chapter will feature its own test worth 50 points. My tests are focused on the specific skills from the last unit completed along with cumulative skills from each of the previous chapters. Only students that have original or retake quiz scores of 8.5 or higher on all previous quizzes will be allowed to take the chapter test. A grade of 0% will be given until a student takes the test.
