Course Offerings by Grade
3K-4K
Ashwaubenon Preschool and Parent Learning (APPL)
- Grade/Age Group: Ages 2–5 years
- Fee: $40 for the first child, $30 for each additional child
- Location: Ashwaubenon High School (AHS)
- Times: Tuesday or Wednesday mornings, 9:00–11:00 AM (select one day per week)
Parents are a child’s first and most important teacher—but parenting can feel like a roller coaster. The Ashwaubenon Preschool and Parent Learning (APPL) program is designed to support and strengthen your confidence in this vital role.
Through fun, engaging activities for children and guided learning for parents, the APPL program fosters early development while helping families grow together.
Note: Registration for APPL is NOT done through PowerSchool.

Getting Ready for 4-Year Old Kindergarten
- Age: 4 years old on or before September 1, 2026

Children who will be attending Ashwaubenon's 4-year old kindergarten are invited to participate in this class. They will enjoy a preschool experience that encourages interaction with teachers and their environment to develop skills in the following areas:

Registration information will be mailed to families of all incoming 4-year old students. For children using transportation, a shuttle bus will be provided between Parkview Middle School and Cormier Early Learning Center.
Getting Ready for Kindergarten

Children who will be attending 5-year old kindergarten are invited to attend this class. Skills necessary for success in kindergarten will be developed or strengthened, including visual, auditory, and language skills. Students will work on cutting, pasting, drawing, painting, and participating in group activities.

Bugs! Bugs! Bugs!

Enjoy the creepy, crawly world of bugs in this hands-on adventure! Students will explore many different varieties of insects through experiments, games, art, writing activities, and more.

Get Fit is a fun and motivating class that will engage emergent learners in developmentally appropriate activities that will enable them to be academically successful. Students will learn to engage both the brain and the body when asked to perform two separate skills. By performing two tasks at once, students will learn both tasks faster and skills become automatic. This class will focus primarily on movement and activities that will exercise the brain and body.

Martial Arts Camp

This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of mixed martial arts. Students will learn basic skills and self-defense techniques. Stretching, increasing strength, and cardiovascular conditioning will be a focus. At the same time, there will be an emphasis upon lifelong learning habits: discipline, respect, confidence, self-esteem and leadership. Students will receive a karate t-shirt and will earn their first belt!

Perform science experiments to discover how to make raisins dance, a paperclip float, and how and why plants grow the way they do. You will also make volcanoes and watch them erupt. Students will use hands-on learning to discover how sound travels and to add color to a live flower. Get ready to mix it up and learn all about the scientific method. You even get to eat some of your experiments!

Please note that class instruction will be a duplicate of last year, so students who have taken this class in the past are discouraged from enrolling again.

Each day we will read and discuss a nonfiction book about dinosaurs! Then, we will work on a connected craft. Do you want to make dinosaur snot? How about learning the Dinosaur Stomp? Creating fossils and bubble wrap dinosaur skin are also planned! Come join us for a dino-riffic time!
Duct Tape Designs

Rocks, rocks, and more rocks… In this class, students will learn about painting rocks and exploring the popular craze of painting, hiding, and finding painted rocks. Students will have the opportunity to paint and design many different rocks using a variety of paints, markers, stickers, and other fun materials.
Empowering Kids

Are you interested in helping out your community? Service projects empower kids with responsibility and foster their compassion towards others. A service project can help the elderly or the homeless, the environment or our furry friends. For this mini unit, we will learn about Meals on Wheels and decorate placemats to be included with the meal delivery. We will learn about animal shelters and make dog biscuits to donate to a local one in need. Additionally, we will discuss what it means to be a veteran and write thank-you letters to our local heroes. We will also create care packages for a children’s hospital in need. In this calming and creative class, we will explore how to become more mindful through yoga, stretching, breathing techniques, and other self-regulating strategies. The students will learn a variety of strategies to use to self-calm, as well as make and create fidget tools. Fidgets will include stress balls, therapy putty, glitter jars, and more. Students will also learn the skills of the Zones of Regulation to help them identify a variety of feelings and how they can best find their way back to a calm and focused state.

Has your child ever danced in the living room like there’s nobody watching? If so, this class is for them! Bop to the top in this summer’s finest, twirling dance class. Students will learn about pom and jazz dance, as well as memorize a routine to show family and friends!
Throughout the 4 weeks of class, dancers will learn what it takes to be a dancer. They will create their own dance moves as well as learn some new ones. The class will include stretching, warm ups, learning new dance techniques, and a showcased routine at the end of the session! Please have dancers wear tennis shoes and workout attire; jeans are not preferred.

Wiffle Ball - More than a Backyard Game
- Grades: 2-4

Students will learn the official rules for the variations of Wiffle Ball and how Stickball served as a precursor to Wiffle Ball and helped develop the skills of some of the top players in Major League Baseball history, including Willie Mays. They will also learn about similar games played in other countries, including Vitilla in the Dominican Republic. Lessons in teamwork and communication will also be among the benefits for the students.
Class Activities: Hitting, pitching and fielding drills to develop skills, many Wiffle Ball games, including a closing tournament, “Wiffle Ball Relays,” videos featuring the top Wiffle Ball players in the world from the World Tournament and the Warehouse Games, “Wiffle Ball Trivia,” a “Stickball Day,” “Switch-hitting Day,” create your own Vitilla set and play the game.
World Explorers

Students will also prepare for participation in the Punt, Pass, and Kick contest with targeted skill development.

Get physically fit and stay active using Magnum fitness equipment in the Parkview fitness center! In this course, students will receive a personalized training program tailored to their fitness level and goals.
Students will work and track their progress using Magnum strength machines such as the triceps extension, biceps curl, shoulder press, pec/delt deck, dips/chin-ups, leg curls, leg extension, and seated leg press. In addition, aerobic fitness will be developed using Star Trac treadmills, recumbent bikes, stair steppers, stationary bikes, and elliptical machines.

Join us for an exciting one-week introduction to high school marching band during our summer school class! This immersive program is designed for students interested in exploring the world of marching band, whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills. Participants will engage in daily practices covering essential music and marching fundamentals techniques. The camp will include team-building activities, instruction on music theory, and choreography to help students understand the coordination required for marching performances.
Students will also have the opportunity to learn about the different sections of the band—brass, woodwinds, percussion, and colorguard—allowing them to discover their interests and talents. By the end of the week, participants will prepare for a mini showcase, where they can demonstrate their new skills to friends and family.

Has your child ever danced in the living room like there’s nobody watching? If so, this class is for them! Bop to the top in this summer’s finest, twirling dance class. Students will learn about pom and jazz dance, as well as memorize a routine to show family and friends!
Throughout the 4 weeks of class, dancers will learn what it takes to be a dancer. They will create their own dance moves as well as learn some new ones. The class will include stretching, warm ups, learning new dance techniques, and a showcased routine at the end of the session! Please have dancers wear tennis shoes and workout attire; jeans are not preferred.

This annual four-day mini-camp is for all incoming Ashwaubenon High School Band students.
