Communication Flow Chart
As parents, community members, and staff, you play an essential role in supporting student learning and success.
Your partnership with our schools helps create a strong foundation for every child’s academic and personal growth. From time to time, questions or concerns may arise that require communication with school staff or administration. When that happens, it’s important to follow the proper chain of communication. Doing so ensures that concerns are addressed efficiently, respectfully, and at the level where the issue first occurred. This approach allows staff closest to the situation to provide accurate information and solutions while maintaining clear communication across all levels of the school community.
Before reaching out, take a moment to review the situation carefully. Stay objective, focus on facts rather than emotions, and give yourself time to “cool down” if you’re upset. Respectful and thoughtful communication helps everyone work toward a positive resolution.
The Parent and Community Communication Process Flow Chart is provided to guide you in determining where to begin and how to proceed if additional follow-up is needed. Each concern should start at the level where the issue occurred, with appeals moving across the chart as appropriate.
By following the communication process and addressing concerns through the proper channels, we can work together more effectively to find solutions, strengthen relationships, and ensure the best possible outcomes for every student’s academic success and emotional well-being. Together, we can continue building a safe, supportive, and thriving learning environment for all students.
