ACT prep - Reading, English, and Writing

This course is designed to help students become familiar with the style of the ACT test. Students will be given helpful strategies and take sample tests. The focus for this class will be on the Reading, English, and Writing portions of the test.
Advanced Working with Woods
Grades: 4-9

Location: AHS
This course is for anyone who has taken the Beginner Working with Woods class and is a natural progression of the skills taught. There is an emphasis on new projects and continuing mastery of use of hand tools, along with use of a variety of power hand tools. Students are required to have safety eyewear for this class.
Beginner Digital Photography and Photo Editing
Grades: 5-11

Do you love to take photos? In this course, you will learn how to use all the settings on your camera and basic photo composition techniques to create great photos! Indoor studio lighting will also be used to create beautiful head shots. You will edit your photos and use them to create print ready products such as trading cards, posters, magazine covers and much more!
Cake Shop
Grades: 6-11

Cakes galore! Learn to decorate cakes like the professionals. Students will practice frosting, writing, flower making, and other cake decorating techniques. Decorate your own masterpiece by the end of the session. Students will be bringing home several tasty treats! Students who participate in this class will be working in a kitchen and may come into contact with allergens such as peanuts/tree nuts, dairy, wheat, soy and gluten.
High School Dance Team Summer Technique/Conditioning

If you would like to be on the Ashwaubenon High School Jaguaress Dance Team or if you just want to improve on your dance abilities to be able to be on the AHS Dance Team in future years, this course is for you! In this course the High School Dance Team Coaches will take you through various workouts to stay in shape over the summer and help prepare you for next springs tryouts. We will also go through the technical skills needed to be on the AHS Dance Team. Hope to see you sign up for our course!

Jaguar Performance Training

Performance Training is designed to emphasize many aspects of physical fitness. The goal of this course is to increase the student’s physical strength, endurance, agility, speed, quickness, flexibility and power. Each session will include participating in a weight training, plyometrics, running program and stretching. This course is offered to males and females. Please note the modified dates and times.

Jaguar Marching Band Mini-Camp

This short 4-day mini-camp is required of all band students for the upcoming year. Students learn the halftime music and drill for the halftime shows for the upcoming Fall. Thursday will conclude with band car wash fund-raiser, barbecue, and outdoor movie night!
Martial Arts Camp

This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of mixed martial arts. Students will learn basic skills and self-defense techniques. Stretching, increasing strength, and cardiovascular conditioning will be a focus. At the same time, there will be an emphasis upon lifelong learning habits: discipline, respect, confidence, self-esteem and leadership. Students will receive a karate t-shirt and will earn their first belt!
Show Choir/Musical Scenes

Do you ever find yourself singing what you’re doing as you’re doing it? Do you geek out over musicals on a daily basis, and wish you had a group of friends at your disposal to sing backup as you take the lead? Have you ever wanted to jump into the TV and be a character on Glee? Join us as we explore group scenes from musicals and popular show choir tunes! This is your chance to be the director, choreographer, lead singer, backup dancer - let you imagination soar! The AHS music library is full of amazing pieces to choose from, and if you’re looking for something we don’t own yet, we’ll gladly help you find a way to purchase it*. Sign up with your friends so we have enough students to fill/sing all roles! No previous experience is necessary.

Are you a musician who has just started writing your own music? Do you sing along to songs on the radio and think, "I could do that!” Have you written lyrics or melodies, but are stuck trying to come up with the rest? Do you wish you could accompany yourself on piano as you sing? Take your musicianship to the next level with this course full of tips, strategies, and sources of inspiration to help you craft your own sound! Topics include choosing a subject and writing lyrics, song structure, transferring literary devices to music, creating original melodies/harmonies, and adding chords for piano accompaniment. Students are encouraged to bring their own laptop and charger, but it isn’t required. No previous experience is necessary.
