Instructional Coaching

Staff within the Ashwaubenon School District see ourselves as learners and thinking partners. That is how we want others to see us as well.

Instructional Coaches in the Ashwaubenon School District support and collaborate with teachers as we work towards our common goal of creating a community of independent learners which aligns with our district vision.

Instructional Coaching is a non-evaluative staff development partnership that focuses on professional learning, and increases educator effectiveness and results for all students. Instructional coaches look to the Learning Forward Standards for Professional Learning to guide their thinking and our purpose. Our coaching team consists of instructional coaches in the areas of technology, literacy, and math.

Because staff in the Ashwaubenon School District believe that there should never be an end to learning, we ALL need to be coached--including the coaches.

When teachers stop learning, so do the students. ~Jim Knight

Coaching is an essential component of an effective professional development program.  Coaching {is a partnership that} can build will, skill, knowledge, and capacity because it can go where no other professional development has gone before: into intellect, behaviors, practices, beliefs, values, and feelings of an educator. Coaching creates a relationship in which a client feels cared for and is therefore able to access and implement new knowledge.
