Volunteers significantly enhance the classroom experiences of our students. The school district believes strongly in volunteerism and encourages its staff and students to embrace volunteers from the community!
INVITATION FROM COORDINATOR OF COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS
Please consider becoming a community volunteer in the Ashwaubenon Schools. The Ashwaubenon School District has many different openings for volunteers. The goal of our program is to link students and community members so we can build a strong relationship, which enhances learning and community involvement. We encourage you to bring you skills and gifts to our schools and our students.
SENIOR CITIZEN VOLUNTEERS IN OUR SCHOOLS
We have a volunteer program specifically geared towards community senior citizens. Volunteer assignments are available once a week, monthly or on an "as needed" basis. Activities are flexible to accommodate senior citizens who have busy personal schedules or are seasonally unavailable to volunteer.
Weekly classroom volunteers to help with reading, math, writing or spelling.
Readers for special events.
Volunteers to serve as mentors or guest speakers.
Set-up and serving crews for special events.
Proctors for AP exams.
Preschool teacher helper - The APPL (Ashwaubenon Preschool and Parent Learning) program is looking for a volunteer to help our two preschool teachers. The volunteer duties would include directing children, helping teachers follow the timeline/structure for the morning, light clean up from snack time, reading to kids, playing games, etc. The time would be Thursday's from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. through the first week in May. The children range in age from 2-4 years.
