SENIOR VOLUNTEERS IN OUR SCHOOLS
We also have a volunteer program geared specifically towards community senior (50+) citizens. Volunteer assignments are available once a week, monthly or on an “as needed” basis. Commitments are usually for an hour or two and in a variety of time slots. Activities are flexible to accommodate senior citizens who travel or go south for the winter.
Senior volunteer assignments occur throughout the school year. Anyone interested should call Debbie Bodager, Coordinator of Senior Volunteers, at 920.492.2905 extension 2005 or via email at dbodager@ashwaubenon. K12.wi.us.
Current needs are as follows:
-
Weekly classroom volunteers to help with reading, math, writing or spelling at Pioneer or Valley View Schools.
-
Set-up and serving crews for special parent breakfast at Valley View.
-
Readers for the Dr. Seuss Read-In at Pioneer, Valley View and Cormier Schools on March 2nd.
-
Volunteers to serve as mentors or guest speakers about their careers, travels, hobbies or life experiences.
-
Volunteers at Ashwaubenon High School to serve as proctors for the AP exams in May.
VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT FORM & BACKGROUND CHECK
All individuals who volunteer in Ashwaubenon's schools will have a background check completed and on file in the building in which they are volunteering. You must first complete a Volunteer Agreement Form and submit it to the appropriate school office.
Opportunities are always available and we welcome your participation!
For additional information or questions on volunteerism please contact Brian Hanes, Superintendent of Schools at bhanes@ashwaubenon.k12.wi.us, or at 920.492.2905 extension 1003.
