Reading Literacy

The Ashwaubenon School District is dedicated to increasing the reading achievement of all students. Ongoing

research-based literacy instruction is provided at all grade levels. To facilitate this instruction a 90-minute literacy

block is part of the daily schedule for students in grades K-5.

READING LITERACY SUPPORT PROGRAM

K-12 District Reading Specialists work with students and classroom teachers

to provide additional support. This is done in a variety of ways that include conferencing, co-teaching, and direct instruction with small groups.

In grades 6-12 students have the opportunity to participate in courses that focus on comprehension and reading in the content areas (social studies, science, mathematics, language arts).
