Physical Education

The mission of the Pioneer Elementary Physical Education Program is to develop life-long movers through a focus on physical activity, sportsmanship and self-exploration.

Students receive physical education three times per week for a total of 90 minutes.

 

1st Grade

Activities Include: Locomotor movements (skipping, hopping…), Spatial and body awareness, Non-locomotor movements (throwing, catching, kicking…), Manipulative skills(striking, hitting…), Gymnastics, Tumbling, Fitness, Jump Rope

2nd Grade

Activities Include: Locomotor movements (skipping, hopping…), Spatial and body awareness, Non-locomotor movements (throwing, catching, kicking…), Manipulative skills(striking, hitting…), Gymnastics, Tumbling, Fitness, Jump Rope

3rd Grade

Activities Include: Football, Soccer, Volleyball, Gymnastics, Basketball, Fitness, Jump Rope, Bowling, Golf, Softball, Dance (Emphasis on skill development and relationship to health and fitness benefits.)

4th Grade

Activities Include: Football, Soccer, Volleyball, Gymnastics, Basketball, Fitness, Jump Rope, Bowling, Golf, Softball, Dance (Emphasis on skill development and relationship to health and fitness benefits.

5th Grade

Activities Include:Football, Soccer, Volleyball, Gymnastics, Basketball, Fitness, Jump Rope, Bowling, Golf, Softball, Dance (Emphasis on skill development and relationship to health and fitness benefits.)
