Menus & School Meal Information

Ashwaubenon School District's is committed to providing a nutritious, balanced and tasty meal for your child(ren) based on government guidelines.  Listed below is information on what constitutes a school meal:

 

AVERAGE IN A WEEK

Meat / Meat Alternate Grades 6 - 12 2 oz.
Grains / Breads Grades 6 - 12 15 servings per week
Minimum 1 serving per day
Vegetables / Fruit Grades 6 - 12 1 cup per day (1/2) cup of each
Fresh fruit and raw vegetables offered 2-3 times / week
At least two different fruits &/or vegetables offered at each lunch
Milk 8 oz. fluid milk as a beverage

 

DAILY MEAL STRUCTURE FOR BREAKFAST - (choose 3 of 4)

Milk 8 oz. Milk
Fruits / Vegetables 1/2 cup
Meat / Meat Alternate
&/or
Grains / Breads
2 servings of Meat (1 serv = 1/2 egg or 1 oz. meat)
OR
2 servings of Grain (1 serv = bread or 1/2 c. cereal)
OR
1 serving of each (1 Meat & 1 Grain item)

 

DAILY MEAL STRUCTURE FOR LUNCH - (choose 3 of 5)

Milk 8 oz. fluid milk daily
Fruits / Vegetables 1 cup total of broth (1/2 cup of each works best)
Meat / Meal Alternate 2 servings of Meat: lean meat, poultry, fish, cheese, egg (1), beans (1/2 cup), pnb (4 T) or other nuts, yogurt (1 cup)
Grains / Breads 1 serving daily (2-3 oz.)
