The Paw Prints newspaper is more than an extra-curricular activity; being on the writing staff also earns a .5 class credit. The class “Writing for Publication” meets one day per week after school throughout the school year. In this course, students gain practical experience in the elements and processes used in producing Paw Prints. Students handle all reporting, editing, photography, layout, advertising and sales for the newspaper. Opportunities are provided for students to refine and expand their knowledge and skills through special projects within the field of communications. Students must attend weekly meetings as well as extra-curricular events and be willing to spend additional time to ensure assignments are completed in time to meet deadlines.
