DECA is an organization representing  "an association of marketing students". Marketing is something businesses do every day. DECA is a business club at the high school but you don't need to know a lot about business to join DECA. DECA is one of the school's largest clubs, with normally over 90 members every year. There are many opportunities to get involved in DECA. Students run various fundraisers and school oriented programs like the homecoming carnation sales, homecoming dodge ball tournament, Packers Game Giveaways, and Valentine Day Data Match.

The main activity that DECA students are encouraged to get involved in is a business competition that is held once a year. If you do well at the first competition you can qualify to go to State, and then possibly International competition. It is strongly encouraged to join as a freshman and get your feet wet. Then as you learn more about business, and the club, hopefully you decide to compete in the competition. DECA is widely recognized in the business world and is a great club to list on a job or college application.
